Friends

Marjan Stanić was born in 1975 in Bitola, Macedonia. Even before he finished primary school, drums and making music with them began to profoundly interest him. At first he used knitting needles and leather pillows, until in 1991 he got his first real drum set and started a hardcore/punk band, Kmetchka godba with his friends from the neighborhood. Four years later he got into percussion instruments, which he has continued to play in a number of the most different formations at home and around the world. He works with various groups and can be seen on dance theatre stages on a regular basis, where he creates scene music. He is a lover of Balkan, Oriental and Mediterranean styles, in music as well as in food, languages, people, and so on. He participates in a number of bands, most frequently Lolita, Zhoambo Zhoet Workestrau, Janez Sskof in Čompe, and Šukar.

In addition, he occasionally works with the Macedonian group Foltin, in the dance performance Občutno občasno, at SMG in Matjaž Pograjc's musical drama, Marat/Sade, etc. He also teaches percussion and drums.
