Biography
Štefan Švagelj
Born in 1980 and started to play tenor tuba when he was twelve. Later on he changed to the trombone, which he studied in music school in Sezana. Some years later he began to study contrabass, too, with the same teacher, Leander Pegan. During that time, he was taking lessons of trombone from Ivo Bašič.
Almost from the beginning of his musical education he played in the Kras Wind Orchestra of Sezana, and when the Wind Orchestra of Komen was founded, he started to play there, too. His second professor of contrabass, Inna V. Lavrova, persuaded him and prepared him to study the contrabass at the Ljubljana Academy of Music, where he graduated in 2006.
He is actively playing in Šukar since 2002.
